Girls basketball: Bloomfield Hills Marian defeats Macomb Dakota 53-44 to remain undefeated on Friday, Jan. 4, 2019

   Bloomfield Hills Marian held off a fourth-quarter rally to defeat Macomb Dakota 53-44 in girls basketball action on Friday, Jan. 4, at Marian.

   With the victory, Marian improved to 5-0 overall.

   Marian led 42-35 heading into the fourth quarter. Dakota closed to 44-42 with a 7-2 run with six minutes left. Marian outscored Dakota 9-2 to secure the win.

   Olivia Moore led Marian with 20 points. Sara Sylvester scored 12 points. Shannon Kennedy had seven points, Anna Herberholtz scored six, and Megan Kraus added five points in the win.

   Marian travels to Ann Arbor Father Gabriel Richard on Tuesday, Jan. 8, to open its Catholic High School League Central Division schedule.
