   Detroit Central held off Detroit Pershing 41-34 in Detroit Public School League Blue Division girls basketball action on Monday, Jan. 31, at Central.

   Central led 29-19 at halftime. But Pershing rallied in the second half to close the gap to 34-32 early in the fourth quarter.

   Central closed the game with a 7-2 run to secure the win.

   Junior Emani Gollman scored 17 points for the Trail Blazers. Junior Unique Theus scored 12 points in the victory.

   Central improved to 8-4 overall and 8-2 in league play.

   Central travels to Detroit Henry Ford (7-1) on Friday, Feb. 3.
