   Birmingham Roeper powered to a 52-7 victory over Southfield Farber Hebrew Day School to open its girls basketball season on Thursday, Dec. 4, at Farber.

   Roeper raced to a 18-0 lead after one quarter and led 40-1 at halftime. The Roughriders played their second string most of the second half.

   Sophomore Scarlett Shaya led the Roughriders with 22 points in limited

action. Junior Jada Coburn scored 19 in the victory. Freshman Ava Thomas had four points, sophomore Flawless Gregory added three points. Senior Terryn Husband and freshman Terryn Husband both scored two points.

   Roeper (1-0) travels to West Bloomfield Frankel Jewish Academy on Tuesday, Dec. 10.
