   Defending Catholic High School League Cardinal Division champion Wixom St. Catherine of Siena opened its league schedule with a convincing 61-50 win over Allen Park Cabrini on Tuesday, Jan. 4, at Cabrini.

   St. Catherine jumped out to a quick 10-0 lead and led 24- 9 after one quarter on hot shooting. Junior Hailey Baumann had eight points in the

quarter. Junior Angelina Arena and junior Rachel Luomala both added six points in the quarter with two three-pointers each. Sophomore Hannah Lisch added four points in the quarter.

   Both Arena and Luomala added five points in the second quarter as the Stars increased the lead to 38-17 at halftime.

   Luomala finished with 19 points. Baumann totaled 16 points. Lisch had 13 points and Arena added 11 points.

   St. Catherine (3-1/1-0) travels to Royal Oak Shrine Catholic (4-3/1-0) on Friday, Jan. 7.
