   Aliyah Coleman scored a layup with 5.1 seconds left in overtime to lift Detroit Cass Technical to a 62-61 girls basketball win over rival Detroit Renaissance for first place in the Detroit Public School League Blue Division on Thursday, Jan. 27, at Cass Tech.

   Cass Tech improved to 5-1 overall and 4-0 in league play. Renaissance fell to 8-2/4-1.

   The game was close throughout, with neither team leading by more than four points. Cass Tech led 15-13 after one quarter. Renaissance was on top 26-24 at halftime. The game was tied 39-39 after three quarters.

   Kayla Mount’s two free throws with 4.3 seconds left in regulation tied the game for Cass Tech to force overtime.

   Mount finished with 19 points and 15 rebounds for the Technicians. Maya Anderson scored 15 points. Taylor Williams had 14 points in the victory.
