   Wixom St. Catherine of Siena dominated Madison Heights Bishop Foley 50-35 on Tuesday, Feb. 18, at Warren Regina, to earn a return trip to the Catholic High School League Cardinal Division girls basketball championship game.

   St. Catherine will face Waterford Our Lady of the Lakes on Saturday, Feb. 22, for the title at University of Detroit Mercy’s Calihan Hall.

   St. Catherine (13-4) led Foley (15-3) 12-4 after one quarter and 26-8 at halftime in its CHSL semifinal matchup. Foley had won 13 straight games heading into the semifinal.

   Junior Darbi Klatt led the Stars with 13 points while senior

Lizzy Turek and freshman Hailey Baumann both added 10 points. The Stars led by as much as 24 in the second half.

   “We were focused. Our whole goal all year is to get back to Callahan. We lost last year in the finals (to Royal Oak Shrine Catholic, 34-24), now we’ve got the feeling, we know what to expect and we’re going to go after it hard,’’ St. Catherine coach Jennifer Vangoethem told reporters.

   St. Catherine beat Bloomfield Hills Cranbrook Kingswood 46-30 in its CHSL quarterfinal on Feb. 15.

   Lakes beat defending champion Royal Oak Shrine Catholic 50-45 in its semifinal game on Tuesday.
