West Bloomfield downed Bloomfield Hills 54-40 in its Michigan High School Athletic Association Division 1, District 6 opener 54-40 on Monday, March 2, at Bloomfield Hills.
Junior Logan Lewis scored 12 points to lead the Lakers. Senior Ikia Elam scored 11 points. Freshman Sydney Hendrix had 10 points. Sophomore Myonnna Hooper added nine points in the win.
The Lakers led 15-9 after one quarter and 22-19 at halftime. They expanded the lead to 37-28 after three quarters.
West Bloomfield (15-6) advances to face Waterford Mott (15-5) on Wednesday, March 4, in the district semifinals. Pontiac (0-16) faces Auburn Hills Avondale (15-5) in the other semifinal. The district final is Friday, March 6, at 7 p.m.
