   Grosse Pointe Woods University Liggett pulled away in the second half to defeat Catholic High School League Intersectional 2 foe Orchard Lake St. Mary’s Preparatory 37-27 on Wednesday, March 3, at Liggett.

   The game was a defensive battle with Liggett leading only 12-10 at halftime.

   Senior Kaitlyn Gray led Liggett with 11 points. Senior Delaney Garvey

 

scored 10 points. Freshman Olivia Jacque scored nine points in the win. Freshman Avery Slanec had five points and freshman Chloe McFarlane added two points.

   St. Mary’s is in its first year of existence.

   Liggett improved to 5-3 overall and 2-0 in league play. Up next is a road game against Bloomfield Hills Academy of the Sacred Heart on Monday, March 8.
